그냥 용인 산골에 사는 중년의 직장남 입니다.. -.ㅡ%~~~~~~~
Q2) 어떤 이유로 원서 읽기를 시작하게 된 건지 궁금합니다.
회사에서 해리포터 원서를 읽어대던 동료를 보고.. "와~ 있어보인다 @_@" 싶어 호시탐탐 하던 차에..
마닐라 어학연수(를 빙자한 쫌 긴 휴가)를 갈 기회가 있었는데요..
그 때 묵었던 하숙방 룸메가 화장실에 원서 책을 변기위에 올려놨더라구요..
무심코 읽었었는데.. 그게 발단(?)이 되어 지금까지 계속하고 있습니다.
그나마 이거라도 읽으면 공부가 되겠지 하고 체계없이 시작한 원서읽기는 어느덧 13년째네요.
Q3) 그렇군요. 그럼 일단 먼저 원서 100권을 완독한 소감을 짧게 해 주신다면?
20'13년도에 잉하에 가입하기 전에 100권을 넘게 읽었었구요.
이제사 200권을 간신히 채웠습니다..
딱히 소감이라 할꺼는 없구요..
좀 뿌듯하네요..(네.. 이 글 쓰고 받게 될 1만 포인트 때문은 아니라고 절대 말 못해요..흐흐)
Q4) 잉하 <원서 100권 읽기 프로젝트> 참여 전에도 원서는 꾸준히 읽어 왔었나요?
100권 읽기에 참여했다기 보다.. 그냥 읽던대로 읽어왔습니다..
그러니 목표를 달성했다고 보긴 어렵겠네요..
하다보니 여기까지 왔다 정도?
Q5) <원서 100권 읽기 프로젝트> 참여 당시 가장 먼저 읽은 원서는 뭔가요?
가장 먼저 읽은 원서는 좀 까리 합니다..;;;
학교 다닐때에 Word Power Made Easy를 읽었습니다..
그리고 나서 단 한 권도 못 읽다가..
위에 말씀드린 화장실에서 The Traveler's Gift를 읽은게 10년이 넘게 지난 후였거든요..
게다가 잉하에 와서 처음 읽은 책은 Cloud Atlas 였습니다..
도대체 제가 가장 먼저 읽은 책은 뭘까요? ^^;;
지금은 그냥 픽션과 넌픽션을 골고루 읽으려 하고 있습니다.
제가 좀 독특해서.. 아니 게을러서..;;
읽던 작가들의 책만 읽는 경향이 강합니다..
왠간히 평이 좋지 않으면 모르는 작가의 책을 시도를 않해요..;;;
실력이요?
글쎄요.. 줄지는 않는거 같다.. 이렇게 생각해왔었는데..
올해들어 다시 읽는 책들이 많은데요.. 제법 늘었더라구요?!?!
이 책을 처음 읽었을 때 왜 고생을 했지? 싶더라구요.. ㅡ.ㅡv
솔직히 100권, 200권을 읽는다고 자신의 실력에 대해 어떤 이정표 같은 거가 생기는 건 아닌 듯 합니다.
읽으니 읽혀지네?하는 자신감이 생기는게 아닐까 생각합니다.
Q6) 잉하에 가입한 많은 분들이 사실상 원서를 거의 읽지 않은 분들인데요...
원서읽기 가장 어려운 점은..
영어 단어, 문법, 해석의 어려움..은 당연한 거구요.. ㅡ.ㅡ;;;
잉하에 가입하고 초초반에 떨어져 나가시는 분들이 열에 아홉이 넘는 걸 보면..
아무래도 가장 어려운 건 꾸준함이 아닐까 생각합니다..
"지치지 않게.." 제가 잉하에서 가장 많이 답글을 달았던 말이 아닐까 싶네요..
Q7) 한글 책도 아닌 원서를 100권을 완독 해 냈다는 건 굉장한 겁니다.
근데요..
솔직히..
영어는 어려워요..;;
아니.. 외국어가 다 그렇겠지요..
그러다보니 몸과 마음의 컨디션에 따라 슬럼프는 수시로 옵니다..
이걸 막을 방법은 없더라구요..
읽다보면 슬럼프는 벗어나더라.. 정도가 아닐까요?

도움이 됩니다.. 라고 말씀드리기 뭐하네요.. ^^;;
잉하 들어와서 읽은 권수는 아직 100권이 아니라서.. ㅎ
Q9) 역시 물어 보지 않을 수 없는 질문 은 말이지요...
원서를 읽기 전에는 원래 책과 거리가 멀었습니다..
그러다보니 원서를 읽게 된 이후 정말 좋은 작가들을 많이(흠?) 알게 되었네요..
폴 오스터.. 타고 난 이야기꾼
댄 브라운.. 탁월한 소재와 숨막히는 전개
빌 브라이슨.. 무궁무진한 관심사와 위트
더글라스 아담스.. 숨 쉬기 어려운 재미 그리고 더는 읽을 작품이 없다는 아쉬움
칼 세이건.. 똑똑함과 현명함 그리고 정직함
