오래간만에 팦송 시리즈를 올려봅니다.

영어라는 것이 항상 접하기 쉬운것이지만 그것에 의미를 부여하고 내삶에 투영했을때 비로소 나의 경험이

되지않나 생각해 봅니다.

오늘 의미를 부여할 팝송은 Girl On Fire라는 열정적인 노래입니다.

우선 음악을 들으며 가사를 음미하시죠~ㅎ

환상보다 더 핫하면 얼마나 섹시할지?ㅎ

그리고 그 적막한 미국의 하이웨이보다 더 황량하면 

얼마나 외로운것인지 짐작이 안가네요.

우선 이해가 안가는 구동사를 봅시다.

Firmly grounded in a realistic, pragmatic mindset regarding 

one's or others' ideas, ambitions, plans, or goals. 

It's great that you are so intrepid in your entrepreneurship, 

but you have to keep both feet on the ground or you could end up losing everything. 

I never worry about our eldest daughter's future. She has both feet firmly on the ground.

매우 현실적이고 실용적이라는 뜻이군요.

have one's head in the clouds

Fig. to be unaware of what is going on from fantasies or daydreams. 

"Bob, do you have your head in the clouds?" asked the teacher. 

She walks around all day with her head in the clouds. She must be in love.

위의 뜻과는 정반대로 환상에 심취해 있다는 의미군요.

back down

(from someone or something) to yield to a person or a thing; to fail to carry through on a threat. 

Jane backed down from her position on the budget. 

It's probably better to back down from this situation; looks like you are at a disadvantage.

물러서다, 굽히다, 패배를 인정하다 그런 뜻인데 이노래의 걸은 굽히지 않는군요.

Dear Fam,I’m so honored to share my fifth studio album, Girl On Fire, 

with all of you. 

WOW!!! What a journey!! Over the last two years, I’ve given my all to 

the songs and sounds that make up this album— 

I took myself out of my “comfort zone”, collaborated with artists 

across different genres, and took control of my life in a way I never 

had before. 

And with every step I took, you all inspired me to pour my heart into 

every beat, and my soul into every lyric.

Girl On Fire is about new beginnings, new perspectives and fresh starts. 

It’s about finding your own inner strength and channeling it in a way 

you’ve never tried before. 

To be “on fire” is to allow yourself the freedom to take full control 

of who you are and how you want to live your life. 

To live your passion and shine your light unabashedly!! It’s that 

moment you choose to claim your power and be extraordinary!

With this album, I hope to empower you in the way you have me… I hope 

to move you to be your own phenomenal self in life. 

Thank you for your tremendous support throughout my career and for 

being a part of my journey as an artist.

그렇군요! 이노래의 궁금증이 확 플리는 기분이네요.

결코 시도해 보지 않았던 것을 시작하며 자신의 내면의 힘을 길러라.

자신을 발견하라는 메세지이군요.

불위에 있는 것이란 극심한 긴장과 더불어 가슴떨리는 일이 아닐 수 없습니다.

이 노래에 이런 깊은 뜻이 있을줄..ㅎ

그런데 또다른 의미해석이 있습니다.

I think this is about female powers. 

When you look at the video, you can see a woman cleaning the household, 

caring for kids, cooking food, etc. without a man coming along to help. 

Most probably she is a single mother. So the song is about emancipation, 

about being able to do everything, even alone.

Any woman who has a single mother or has raised kid herself will know 

what I'm talking about. 

There is always so much to do, you feel like it's consuming yourself, 

like fire. 

And then, in the evening, when the kids are asleep, there are those quiet, 

lonely minutes, where you are totally broken up and just want to cry, 

feeling burned out. But your not, you will get up the other day and do it 

all over again, because the flame has not vanished in your eyes. 

A strong girl, strong woman, who will make it, even on her own.

흠..자신의 모든것을 불사르고도 아직 눈속에 타는 불이 사그러 들지 않음을

알고 다음날 또다시 불태우는 삶..

정말 뭉쿨합니다.
