1) 총평 (완독 소감 + 간단한 원서 리뷰 포함)

한동안 글이 안읽히고 그러더니만..

요즘 Kate DiCamillo 를 읽고 있습니다.

Because of Winn-Dixie 도 그렇고

Ulysses & Flora, The Magician's Elephant 도 그렇고..

Winn-Dixie 에서는 현실감이 무척 크게 느껴졌었는데..

나머지는 좀 황당하지만.. 그런 설정속에서 따뜻함 마음의 순수한 사람들이..

모두가 상처를 가지고 있지만 그래도 나름이 방법으로 사랑하고 애뜻해 하는 모습들이

마음에 남습니다.

 

Edward Tulane 또한 그렇습니다.

큰 사랑을 받던 중국산 토끼인형..

스스로가 그 사랑을 당연시 하고 그러던 중 뜻하지 않게 주인과 떨어지면서 우여곡절을 겪으면 많은 사람들을

만나게 됩니다.

어부부부, 부랑자와 그의 개, 병에 걸린 소녀와 그의 오빠..

이런 사람들과 만나고 그들만의 사랑하는 방법을 느끼고 받아들이게 되면서.. 정작 본인은 사랑을 하지 않고

있었다는 것을 가슴시리도록 느끼는 토끼인형... (그러고 보니 설정이 동화구만요.. ㅎㅎ)

결국은 뜨겁게 사랑하는 것을 느끼고, 누군가를 위하는 마음을 갖게 되고..

이런 이야기들이 잔뜩 담겨 있습니다.

 

Kate DiCamillo 의 책이 몇권 더 있던데.. 이참에 읽어볼까 싶습니다.
