1) 총평 (완독 소감 + 간단한 원서 리뷰 포함)
조금 느긋하게 읽자고 일주일에 한권 목표를 잡았는데 정말 일주일에 한권 읽어서 부끄러운 주간입니다ㅠ.ㅠ
변명을 해보자면 회사가 요즘 매우 다이나믹하게 바빠져서 아침마다 책도 못읽고 기절하는 경우가 빈번해서요.
다음주에는 또 회식이 있는데.. 이러면 또 어쩔지 걱정이 됩니다.
지난번에 읽은 Sons and Lovers가 무척 불편해서, 로얼드 달의 책을 읽으면 조금 힐링이 되지 않을까 생각하고 골라잡았어요.
그런데 웬걸..... 힐링은 커녕... 더 나락속으로-_-;
이번 책은 로얼드 달 단편선이에요. 저는 처음에 Taste라고 되어 있고 어떤 아저씨 한 분이 표지에 박혀 있길래,
뭔가 로얼드 달이 맛집 기행(?)을 하고 미식 에세이(?)라도 쓴 줄 알았는데 맛이 아니고, 와인 테이스팅할 때의 테이스트 같아요.
단편 소설들이지만 로얼드달 특유의 상상력과 웃지만은 못하겠는 유머, 약간은 잔혹한 내용까지 그 특성은 생생합니다.
오히려 아동 소설보다 판타지적인 요소는 없으면서도 이런 반전과 이야기를 꾸며낸 게 더 놀랍기도 해요ㅎㅎ
찰리와 초콜릿 공장에서야 풍선껌 씹다가 부풀어오르기도 하지만 그런 기이한 설정이 없이도 이런 황홀한 이야기라뇨ㅎㅎ
사실 잉하에서도 별로 이야기가 되지 않던 책이고 저도 이번에 다들 처음 읽어본 이야기지만,
블랙조크를 좋아하시는 분들께는 나쁘지 않을 것 같습니다ㅎㅎ
근데 MTH FT 읽다가 너무 급격하게 Penguin Readers Lv.5로 올라와서 그런지 책이 잘 안읽히네요..
읽다보면 해결되는 부분이겠죠?ㅠㅠ
