i've kept a hard copy of this novel for years but never tried reading...
And finally got a chance to read this great SF novel. As some of you may notice, it is a story about a man who travelled to the distant future (80만 2700년ㅋ) with his time machine.
By the by (phrase used several times in the novel, meaning "여담이지만"), i love the stories abut the future and time mahine..also movies like the Minority report, the Fifth element, the Island..etc..
The novel is quite short with less than 100 pages. But i had a hard time to quickly turn the pages, because the author used so many descriptive vocabularies unfamilar to me, like 'stagger' 'giddy' 'patter' 'snatch' 'shirk' 'appall' 'obscene'....name a few.
While in normal case it is not reommended to look up the every words u don't understand in the english dictionary, i would say i couldn't understand the story well without help of dictionary.. Fortunately, as the story continues, the need to look up the words in the dictionary is reduced. So if you're a kind of person who has a lot of interest in science fiction, you should try it! the book is interesting not just because it tells you about marvelous things in our distant future but also because it gives you a very philosophical insight about how human being had ended-up with such future and what our current behavior will result in.
초보에게는 극악의 난이도네요. 일단 아래서 단어공부 먼저..
