스탠리는 캠프 생활에 익숙해지면서 몸과 마음이 단단해져 가네요
읽으면서 great-great-grandfather가 두달동안 돼지를 들고 산에 데리고 가면서 체력이 좋아졌다는 이야기가 떠올랐네요
스탠리는 눈치가 있고 심성도 착하지만.. 운은 정말 안 좋은 ㅜㅜ

As the days wore on, the Warden became less and less patient.

The remainder of his body hardly hurt at all. His muscles had strengthened, and his hands were tough and callused.
His muscles and hands weren't the only parts of his body that had toughened over the past several weeks. His heart hardened as well.
Stanley was thankful that there were no racial problems.
On the lake they were all the same raddish brown color-the color of dirt.
(왜 이런 문장이 나왔나 싶었는데.. 일종의 복선인지.. 110년전과 비교해보면 정말 많이 달라졌군요)
It felt good to walk in the shade of the two oak trees. Stanley wondered if this was how a condemned man felt on his way to the electric chair-appreciating all of the good things in life for the last time.

아마 이부분은 전날밤 일로 Squid에게 안부를 묻자 Squid가 주둥이 함부로 놀리면 턱을 날려버리겠다고 한뒤에
Stanley자신이 생각한거 같아요
나를 원시인이라고 부르고 친한척을 해도 결국은 위험한 아이들임은 틀림없다고 그래도 다행인게 인종 문제는 없어 감사하다고 위안 삼는거 같아요^^ (Stanley의 성격이죠 항상 좋게 생각하려는...) 호수 위에서는 모두다 붉은 갈색의 얼굴을 하고 잇으니 말이에요
